A little about me
Hi, I’m Lyn — an award-winning upholsterer based in Bristol, trained and accredited by the Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers. My journey began in fashion and evolved into upholstery, driven by a lifelong love of vintage pieces and creating individual looks.
I grew up in Angus, on Scotland’s east coast, surrounded by many beautiful Glens — especially Glen Prosen, which was the birthplace and childhood playground of my mum, who taught me to sew. She passed away in 2021, and naming my business Lyn Prosen Upholstery is my tribute to her and the creativity she inspired.
I combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, always with a splash of colour — whether subtle, playful, or bold. My aim is to bring cheerfulness to every piece, celebrating individuality and making spaces feel joyful.
In 2025, I was honoured with a National Upholstery Award for excellence in both traditional and modern practice, presented by the Worshipful Company of Upholders, a royal-chartered trade guild.
