How do we get things off the ground?

Every piece of furniture has a story. I offer a thoughtful, design‑led approach to restoring and reimagining your furniture with care, craftsmanship and longevity in mind. Reupholstering is one of the most sustainable ways to refresh your home. By restoring quality furniture rather than replacing it, you’re preserving craftsmanship, reducing waste and investing in something truly individual.

Here’s my step by step guide to the process from first contact to finished piece.

  1. Initial Enquiry

Get in touch by email, or social media with a few photographs of your furniture, approximate dimensions and any details about your needs and design ideas. Don’t worry if your not too sure as I’ll get back in touch and we can talk through the possibilities and, where possible, provide an initial guide price.

  2. Consultation & Design

I can come to you and we’ll explore how the piece is used, your personal style, existing interiors and budget. You may already have a fabric in mind, or I can help source something special from a carefully chosen range of suppliers that I work with.

Design options may include reupholstering in a similar style, transforming the look with a new fabric, adding trims or detailing, improving comfort with new fillings, reviving exposed woodwork, or creating coordinating accessories such as footstools or cushions. However small or big a job, we will work through what you are after and appropriate options.

  3. Quotation & Fabric Selection

Following our discussion, you’ll receive a clear, detailed quotation outlining labour, fabric, any repairs and estimated lead times. Fabric selection is fully guided, with careful consideration given to durability, texture, colour, pattern scale and sustainability. Samples can be viewed alongside your furniture and within your home.

  4. Restoration & Reupholstery

Your furniture is carefully stripped back, assessed, repaired and restored where needed. Frames, springs and padding are repaired or renewed before the piece is rebuilt and upholstered using traditional techniques combined with modern methods where appropriate.

  5. Finishing Touches & Return

Final details such as trims, piping, buttoning or bespoke cushions are added as per your design agreement before your furniture is returned home — beautifully restored, comfortable and ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.

    Payment

Payment is staggered with either a 50% payment of the estimate or full fabric & trimmings cost, whichever is greater, on acceptance of the estimate. This is non-refundable if a cancellation is made based on materials having been ordered to proceed, and any time and labour spent to date. The following payments structure will be dependent on the scale of job and will be discussed and agreed per job.
